Here are the ingredients needed for this Homemade Gingerbread Syrup Recipe:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/4 cup unsulphered molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 fresh ground pepper medley
- 1/8 ground nutmeg
- 1/8 ground allspice
- 1/8 ground cloves
- 1 vanilla bean, cut lengthwise (or 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract)

How to Make Homemade Gingerbread Syrup Recipe

Step 1
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the water, sugar, molasses, ground pepper, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and vanilla bean. Whisk to combine. Bring to a low boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. After 5 minutes, remove from heat.
Step 2
Using a funnel, transfer the syrup to a heat-safe container. Store in the refrigerator. Shake well before each use to mix any settled spices at the bottom of the container.
